Long lost pins

I have a confession for you all.  This might come as a surprise.  Here it is...*deep breath*...I LOVE Pinterest.  Are you shocked?

 . . .

 . . . . . . .

Yeah...didn't think so.

Here's the thing, though.  How many times have you seen an amazing looking pin, followed the link with bated breath.  Your joy at the untold knowledge about to come your way growing with every second.  Loading...here it is...and......nothing.  The link doesn't actually lead anywhere or it leads to a website where you can't find the actual thing you were looking for.  Your joy turns to anger, you start to mistrust pins...is it even worth clicking this one or will I just be disappointed again?  Don't let your Pinheart break!  There's a solution!  We just need to be better acquainted with a good friend you may not even know you have over at Google Images.  Here, my dear readers, is a step-by-step way to find that long lost pin.  (These images and directions are based on Firefox, I assume other browsers will be very similar, but might be worded differently.)

Here's the infamous pin that inspired this blog post.  Looks amazing, right?  It's for baked eggs...if I was you, I would expect to see this recipe again.  I'm going to make it...soon.  Unfortunately this pin leads to a website with a list of recipes, but none of them are this one and even the site's search tool didn't turn up anything.

Right click on the lovely picture and then click on "Copy Image Location" or similar.

Then go to Google Images for an image search.  In the search box, at the right hand side you'll see a little camera.  This camera is your friend.  Make sure you have "paste image URL" selected (you can also upload a picture to search for if you have it saved on your computer...really, this feature is awesome!) and paste your URL in the box.  Click "search" and...

You'll (hopefully) get results like these!

You have to sift through a little bit to find what you want.  My search results came up with several pins, but...see it at the top?  One with a real, non-Pinterest URL!  That's the yummy, yummy success I was looking for!  Follow the link, enjoy your glorious information!

Well folks, there it is!  Quick, easy, and usually successful.  And...just in case you thought that picture looked as amazing as I did, here's the link for Baked Eggs at Use Real Butter
